    Hi Folks,

I'd have a standard hot water tank in my hotpress and want to change it to the ready insulated type to improve heat retention. I've changed radiators etc and can do most of the plumbing in the house so wondering how this job of removing the old would compare in terms of difficulty?
    Cheers

    I wouldn't consider it a diy job.

If you do decide to go ahead yourself keep in mind that even if it is the exact same size as the old one the holes will most likely be in different positions. It isn't just a matter of taking one out & popping the other one in the same spot

You may need an extra elbow joint or extra length of cooper piping or a reducer to marry up to existing pipework. No big deal. If it has an Emerson are you comfortable to wire it yourself?

    Hi OP,
I'M thinking of doing the same thing. I've done a fair bit of plumbing in the house and also installed a boiler stove. Have you decided which tank to buy?
There is immersion but we never use it.
