    Anyone stick their head in at a weanling sale lately? How are 400/440kg cont Bulls going?

    Saw good 400kg Charolais making €1000 to €1200 all day a few days ago. It was a poor one making less than €1000.

    Yeah the man keeping the cow and rearing the calf would want it and I'd want €1800 in 6 months for him for it to be worth my while fattening him.

    €1900/€2300 depending on quality, age, bull or heifer calf and bidders I'd say?

    I was only expecting them to be 1300-1500 max, couldn't justify more than that.

    If there is feck all buyers you might get lucky and who ever is selling them would be mad to shift them. Other side of the coin is you get what you pay for. Let us know how it goes if you go in.

    The blue was wide and long and that picture was taken over a wall sp he looks even smaller.
    I thought the heifer might be a touch heiver and the bull a small bit lighter tbh

    Think I witnessed the dearest Mart I have ever seen in kilfenora tonight. Good quality Feb and march chx bulls 330kg freely making 1050-1100, lighter ones 270kg making 900-1000. Never seen the likes of it before.
