An event in aid of a cause, but to be honest I don't see myself coming back next year. The venue is much, much too small for the crowd it drew (at least the crowd it drew this year; which to be fair might have been as a result of the run in Dun Laoighre which I believe ended as this begun). Cars continued to arrive and despite the obvious lack of space were continually allowed in. This in turn wasn't helped by the ignorant crowds of spectators standing around and helping no one. The car in my first photo below was genuinely at least five minutes trying to move past crowds who were totally oblivious or didn't care. In the end I went and asked a steward if something could be done to help this car (and another 1910s/20s looking car behind) into the show, but was met with a shrug of the shoulders and "I can't move from here"

    Anyway, I digress. Photos..

I enjoyed the display, agree its getting too big..but in fairness if its open to the public at 11.30..it should be made clear that cars arriving after this time will not be allowed in..its just one of these "free" events issues...long may they continue..:)

I agree fully, and even the steward I talked to briefly mentioned something about having to expect these things at free events. Fairyhouse show on the 20th is also free if you aren't aware :)

A good little show enjoyed meeting up with a number of people. Just over packed with people when I was there, could hardly move.
Being FOC event and just donations in the buckets created large foot fall. Hope the charity did well out of it.

However, once open to public stewards should escort cars to their park spot. Otherwise, someone is going to get hurt and that will be the end of the show.

Controversial i know but there were too many "cars and coffee" rather than vintage cars there...imo 90's cars have no place in a vintage show...yet..;)

There were lots of vintage cars also. I saw Model Ts, early 30s Mercs, a few e type Jaguars, a lovely auto union, various 60,70 and 80 Porsches.

Its really a charity event rather than a car show .... the good weather meant it was very busy.

Absolutely right..i enjoyed it too, but i'd hate that some older vehiclesmaybe couldnt get in due to lack of space...a bigger venue i think at this stage is required...

Indeed, there were lots of older cars parked around Dalkey who couldn't get into the car park.

I went for a walk and saw an 40/50s MG at the Dart station, a Citroen DS and cream/white merc coupe just off main street.
