Here we go again, another season of euphoria and self-loathing, I wouldn't have it any other way :D

*Side note: Contrary to the image above, Jesus may not feature in the final edition of my team. TBC.*

I'm guessing this is a joke and you know he's injured and won't play this weekend?

I think I'm settled with this team now:

    Foster (Elliot)
    Kolasinic Bailly Yoshida (AlexArnold Long)
    Salah Fabregas Redmond KdB (RLC)
    Lukaku (C) Lacazette Hernandez

Took Km's advice and lightened the defence up and added more power to the midfield.

I'd like to talk about how I'm planning to wildcard on GWX, but I don't really have a plan at all.

But wait, there's no football tonight....

    ;)

Had to finalise my team yesterday, working till after deadline, so little opertunity to look at it. Was hoping for a Saturday morning of final tinkering at it but no luck.

    Finally done and dusted.

    Foster
    Bailly - Stephens - Lejeune
    De Bruyne - Salah - Willian - Ward-Prowse
    Lukaku (C) - Kane - Gabbiadini

    Subs: Elliot, Carroll, Suttner, Mee

Pretty happy with that. Lots of eggs in the Southampton basket which could backfire spectacularly, but I hope they'll be value for money at their price points.

Good luck all and don't get too downhearted if things don't go well in gameweek 1. It's a long, long, long season. :)

    Foster
    Stephens Otamendi Holding
    Iwobi De Bruyne Zaha Alli
    Jesus Firmino Lukaku(c)

    Elliot Lejeune Carroll SWard

Going offline for a few hours so that's my team one way or another.

    Good luck y'all.

I'm done & dusted, far too many drafts I wouldn't actually like to know how many I did in the end so this is it:

    Foster (Elliot)

    Jones, Alonso, Bertrand (TMF, Long)

    KDB, Ritchie, Zaha, JWP (Carroll)

    Kane, Lukaku (C), Firmino

Hoping WBA can get off to a decent start with Foster, CS might be in the rarity though.

Previously mentioned about Alonso coming in as a 5th/6th MID and he's fairly nailed on, don't see value in Fab or Willian long terms.

KDB a no brainer, wish I had Jesus/Aguero to complement but shurrr look. Ritchie after this GW has a nice run of things and he takes all their set pieces. If Newcastle score a goal, he'll be involved. Zaha could do v well against Huddersfield, most attacks go through him and JWP will get as much points as Tadic for 1 mil less I think (hope). Plan to rotate with Carroll.

Lukaku is owned by too many to not own so he's getting the armband, Kane the same, there's a reason he's 12.5 and be gunning to prove the doubters wrong. Firmino my Liverpool coverage, it's a bit of a goldmine who'll get goals/assists so hope it's him, if he's on pens too even better.

Been a long aul pre season but thank fook it's here, best of luck all. See you for the WC Monday :P

Some say I'm addicted to buying players OOP potential, but in my defence I have Bellerin and Milner.
While in MF I was Walters.

Gotta say that there are big differences in a lot of the predicted lineups between the Guardian and FFS.

Which would you be more likely to go with? I'm tempted to the go the Guardian route.

A couple of instances are the Everton team where the Guardian have them lining up in a 4-4-2 with Martina at full back and they also have Klaasen playing behind Rooney and Rooney and Sandro. FFS has Holgate as part of a back three and then Calvert-Lewin in attacking midfield with Klassen playing deeper.

In the same game FFS has Stoke with a back three with Cameron playing as right centre-back while he isn't in the Guardian team as they have a 4-4-2 again with Glen Johnson starting.
