Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Well all i have started a new thread as i think the name was confusing people !

    As the game is live i have set up the league nice and early to give every one plenty of time to get in.

    Entry is the same as previous seasons 20 which can be sent by bank transfer or paypal.

    Please make sure to factor in any fees so the ultimate prize pot is not impacted.

    If interested please PM for payment and league details including below information.

    Real Name
    Boards Name
    Team ID

    Please include your boards name in your transfer.

    15/16 Prize Pot was 2100
    16/17 Prize Pot was 1340
    Lets try to get 100 and hit 2K again.

    Lets try and get another decent pot and then we can decide on the prize structure by democratic decision.

    Team name is fine but you can get Team ID from the gameweek history

    Amazing the fall off in interest from 2 years ago.

    mirwillbeback filled his €50 league in 20 days (limited to 25 spaces)!

    I'm happy with the buy in and wouldn't do too many leagues for more money but I wonder what is keeping people away.

    Quite a few regular posters not in the league who do go for pay leagues

    I noticed this with my friends too, with not much interest in pay leagues. I think last year was an odd season, with not many template teams due to injuries etc, to keep leagues tight until the end. Those injuries can lead to risky choices, which can open up massive points differences in leagues when they go wrong. Even the likes of Lukaku and Kane would usually score in bursts. So even good studious players who got a captain choice wrong during one of those purple patches could be 100 or so points behind after a bad two weeks. At least that's what I have being telling myself!

    There's a lot of different boards pay leagues going on now though. A couple of years ago there was only maybe 2 or 3 but now there's probably 9 or 10 including drafts.

    That's a good point about all the various leagues... If you only plan to spend €50 or €100 on the game then you can only enter so many leagues!

    It can be very hard to motivate yourself to keep trying if you fall well back but this league last year is proof that it's worth battling to the end. The guy who won it caught up about 100 points in the last few GWs to win it.
