Best day since June 20th to say the least. Fantastic weather with low humidity but blue skies and very warm maximum temperatures.

Stunning day with barely a cloud in the sky. Got up to 23.6C here near Tralee and currently 18.8C. Relative Humidity got down to a very comfortable 51%. Sea breeze mid afternoon died away again early this evening.

Max of 22.5c here in West Clare, currently 18.7c. Still 25c at Shannon airport, what a temperature difference between there and here, just the other side of the county.

Stunning day in Tralee. I finished off the day with a walk on Fenit pier at 6.30pm and it was like being abroad. Still gloriously warm with lots of people swimming and sunbathing in clear blue skies. So lovely to see little kids frolicking about. A reminder of how summer should be. What a shame we get so little of it.

27.6! Any chance your weather station is slightly optimistic? Beautiful day all in all

Lively enough slow moving low Thurs and Fri , Met Eireann talking of uncertainty at this stage. Interesting to watch if it deepens and the track it takes. Impossible to predict where rain will fall but most places getting some rain it would seem. Windy on the coasts and feeling cool.

Can't enjoy it,nothing more than a sick tease, and what's beyond Wednesday only compounds it further.

Ah get over it and enjoy it ffs while we have it ya miserable git.

Seriously, "I can't enjoy the weather because it's going to be gone in a few days". What do you expect, sunshine and 30's for the entire summer? It's Ireland!

    Actually you're wrong.
It's looking increasingly likely that it will get warmer and more settled from Sunday onwards. For how long I don't know but for a few days at least.

Anyone out in loughrea? Usually when it's this warm people are swarming the lake.
Glad you've all gotten good weather.

Yes its possible but it is mostly pretty accurate, was bloody hot compared to what we have been getting lately anyway. The flying ants were out this evening as well, they like a good hot day too.

That run was a massive outlier though. The rest of the ensemble members had much much lower 850 temps

That didn't last very long much different day here today.

Clear sky, sunshine and warm in north meath this morning, can see some cloud building to the south, hope it stays there

Dull and breezy here much different feel to yesterday. Hopefully things will pick up during the morning but not what I was expecting.

Clear blue skies in Dublin with a light breeze. Can see the high cloud towards the south though. I reckon we'll see CU towers trying to build over the Dublin mountains as we head into the PM.

Met Éireann's 12Z aviation chart has the area of convection currently over NW France as having Cb with bases at 7000-10,000 ft, so all elevated.

Aye news 24 forecast emphasising a lot of lightning with no rain at first
Glorious here no hint of a breeze yet
1st pic is east north and over head
2nd with the windmills is towards the approaching cloud covering all the views to the south and south east now from Arklow

Has the cloud encroached into Munster quicker than expected?

It's a warm sunny one this morning with temperatures approaching 22c already

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,519 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

19c already, however much cloudier than I expected. Completely different to what I expected, I expected 25-26c and good sunshine. Won't see that today anyway!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,912 ✭✭✭Danno

Moved the Davis sensor into the Stevensons Screen yesterday, so the 26.6c is in fact too high owing to movement, by the time I had disassembled the unit prior to disconnecting, exposure caused by movement resulted in the spike. The screen recorded 25.5c yesterday.
I noticed that on days with strong sunshine the max was reading up to +.6c at times, so hopefully this will address the over reading on such days.
Currently 21.6 with a blanket of high cloud.

blue skies and as sunny as yesterday, 22C already, if the sun holds out till evening could be warmer than yesterday. Some parts of the country 24C at midday.

Temperature hasn't broken 20c, and I doubt it will. Entirely overcast now, extremely disappointed. The cloud wasn't forecast to come this far north!
