    It will be interesting to see what comes of this investigation but it's likely that we may get some form of evidence down the line considering Rod Rosenstein conclusion today. At this stage it would be in the public interest to do so considering the reporting and truth vacuum that has existed to date.

    The language of the information released suggests that there is no concrete evidence as it would probably be impossible to get a smoking gun in terms of evidence in a crime of this nature but hopefully the circumstansional narrative and indirect evidence is concrete in the conclusion becuase if it's not the US public will continue to be divided on this issue particularly if there is nothing linking Trump's campaign to this issue.

    I thought Reagan had ruined "I don't recall". I mean, it seems to be well known code for "I'd rather not lie under oath". It's understandable that you couldn't remember the odd thing here and there but it just looks bad when you use "I don't recall" this often. Contrast this with Comey. How often did he use that excuse?

    Well Sessions admitted that he was aware that Russia had influenced the election.

    He then admitted that he had never even asked about it.

    Now we are supposed to believe that a long time senator, with years of knowledge of intel on Russia is not at all bothered by Russia interfering in the election?

    Only two reasons. He just doesn't care or he wants to cover

    so the us is now faced with an AG who either doesn't consider an attack by a foreign power as important enough to ask about it or an AG you is covering fir something and has lied under oath.

    Yeah, nothing to see here.

    In a way, what Sessions managed to do there for over 2 hours was impressive. Refusal to answer even the simplest of questions at times, be able to speak about communications with the president on some matters, but not on others. The amazing ability to have the recall facility of a goldfish while also try to maintain credibility to hold the position he does.

    They need to get their list of questions, go to the WH, ask them what ones,if any they are going to invoke EP on. Then get people back in and get answers from them on the record, if they refuse take further steps, if the EP seems to be about covering tracks regarding the Comey firing rationale then litigate that and get through the EP too. They need to press this as it is simply not acceptable to refuse to answer questions impeding investigations. There is no actual policy in writing I would wager, (you would think since AG Sessions planned to rely so heavily on it he would have had it prepared and with him like he did the CFR document to explain his recusal) there has been talk of a memo from Reagans times regarding what the AG should or should not talk about, course that would, if it is accepted only get Sessions off the hook, nobody else.

    Its another step in what is going to take another 12 months probably.

    What's with the assumption that only the left dislike Trump and also dislike being Russia's bítch? Trump's no Republican and Republicans have traditionally been suspicious of Russia for years.

    Do you think the Russian interference didn't happen? Or do you instead think that there's nothing suspicious about Trump's admin's connections to Russia? I understand that you tend to just drop in, write a few words and drop out but I'm going to assume for a moment that you are capable of more. Please don't let me or your fellow Trumpers down.

    I find it rather peculiar that it's the "left" in the US who are looking at the meetings and deals the "right-wing" republicans had with the Russians as reason to suspect there was a conspiracy between both affecting US interests and sovereignty and it's the "right" who are being forced into denying it. US politics turned on its head.

    Not a great situation for Sessions to be in. You do not receive the updates in which case you can be painted as not caring or attempting to plead ignorance. Alternatively you can receive them in which case people will portray you as trying to keep ahead of the investigations.

    Still both sides will have there snippets from the testimony to run. Imagine Harris and Cotton will feature strongly, dependent on the intended audience.

    Anyone else see the the official White House facebook page posting a video earlier with "Trump meets with the victims of Obamacare" What the **** is a victim of the ACA? That actually pisses me off. Like it was some sort of disaster that enabled poor people to get health insurance. Sometimes I just wish someone would put a bullet in the back of this guys head and be done with it. America and the world would be better for it.

    What annoys me the most is the hyperbole and partisanship that has infected and destroyed US politics.

    When the White House is using words like "victims" in connection with the work of a previous president, what is the average joe supposed to accept?

    In the past the WH had standards, it maintained a decorum and intellectual ability. It projected confidence and stability and even a certain level of impartiality. After all, the WH and the president, although coming from a party, respresent all Americans

    And for some reason, this WH and President is aggressively going after Obama's legacy. There are certain conclusions I could draw from that about race

    He meets the "victims of Obamacare" every time he meets with his Cabinet. That damned socialism is eating into their profits, they had to hold off their next private jet purchase for a couple of weeks!

    Hopefully, in some way DT is removed/quits. The enoulments cases are interesting. Someone is going to snare him.
    The biggest task of the next President will be, reinstating those standards or norms.
    Ford, though not spectacular, achieved it after Nixon, simply by being normal.
