Cancel 3 contract for everyone!

    As far as I can make out, all of 3's bill pay plans are increasing in price from next month.
    This means you can leave your contract if affected, without penalty.

    I'm just off the phone to 1800 818 021 and cancelled my contract (they're a bit pushy but you just have to stick to your guns that you don't agree to the price hike).

    My sim only plan is going up €5 per month. Thats enough to look elsewhere.

    OP, where did you see the prices for the plans are increasing? I haven't got any notice? on bill pay.

    You'd think they should notify us of an increase? rather than a general link on their website.

    I took out a two year contract with phone in December. Can I cancel my contract without penalty?

    So my wife has about a year left on her contract. She is on 25 euro amonth and its going up to 30 a month. She just needs to call them up and cancel over the phone? Then move to new sim only plan? No catches or extra payments etc??

    I signed up to a 24 month contract in September.

    Am I able to cancel the contract and keep the phone without paying another cent over to three?

    I would imagine that 3's billpay decision team would see you broke contract at the time on t&c change. Then decline any further contract applications youll submit.

    Possibly (not sure if this is the case) but other networks might also see this as part of their credit checks and also decline an application based on that.

    It's my first price increase in 5 years with three so I think it's fair enough personally I'll be staying put.

    I know someone who just cancelled.

    3 have to unlock the device and you are free to do as you see fit with it as the device formed part of the original contract.

    They did have a bit of bother getting it cancelled you have to really stick to your guns but they have to let you leave and keep the device if you wish.

    Likewise. I'd be happy enough. In the grand scheme of things the increase is not outlandish.

    That is what I needed to hear. I signed up to a new deal in November, 24 months long. I barely use the package I'm on anyway.

    Yep I was just on live chat with them on their website, you can cancel and keep the phone unlocked, suits me to go to a sim plan anyways.

    I didn't feel the need to comment on your decision to stick with three as that's your choice. As it is my choice to not to pay the extra €4. So if you don't mind can you keep your smart arse comments to yourself.

    I personally have no problems with Three's service, but, if they are charging €30 for the Mini Flex Max on a 24 month contract, or €30 for an Unlimited Sim Only 30 Day, I know which one I would rather have, even just for the better EU allowances.



    Yeah I can just change to to the very same plan on pay as you go and get the exact same for 20e instead of 30,

    On Pat Kenny earlier, they were saying 3 are pulling a fast one over the EU roaming agreement due to come in this summer..

    Apparently they (and other operators except Vodafone if I picked it up right) have found a loophole that means they won't be allowing data roaming like home as had been expected..

    Per the correspondent, (Adrian Weckler iirc - was half listening as at work) this is a material change in your contract, allowing you to cancel, so if data roaming is important to you, time to switch...

    I was informed that I'd have to wait for a letter before I could go about cancelling my contract. I'm sure that's bs as I don't need a letter to inform me that their prices are increasing.

    But, you didn't break the contract, they changed it and you didn't agree to the new terms. You effectively did nothing.
