It's games like this when I fear we'll rue the loss of Gronk. It's not the catastrophe it might have been previously, but in the playoffs, against the best is when you need your best to make a play. Hope we go all the way; with a fit Gronk I'd be very confident.

Steelers' locker room has been hit by a flu this week. Up to 15 players have had it. I'll take every little advantage we can get!

After getting caught deflating footballs, the Patriots have now resorted to biological warfare #FluGate

Don't know if people have seen the 'Boston Americans' episode of the Simpsons.
Moe : I can't stand that pretty boy quarterback, thinks he so handsome just cause he's drop dead gorgeous.
Lenny: They only win coz they cheat, listening in our head sets, fattening our cheerleaders. For 3 games last year they used a volleyball painted brown.

starts from about 45 seconds for the next 5 minutes.
    Classic game winning TD also.

The NFL Commish would have you believe that he is quite shady
We're talking about the greatest who goes by the name Tom Brady,

Tonight he will stand in the pocket and look for feelers
to try spot the weakness in the defense of the Steelers,

He'll hand it off and he'll throw it, he might even the ball tuck
but as long as he gets the W he won't give a fuk,

He'll focus only on Pittsburgh to keep the dream alive
You need to win this one to have a shot at number five,

When it's all said and done which will be quite late tonight,
Here's hoping we're thinking about getting a Houston airline flight.

    Key today:

Offense - Big day for our running backs. That game at the start of the season we put 190 yds and a Thud on that Steelers Run Defense. If we produce like that today Brady will get it done.

Defense - Minimize the effect of Brown and Bell. Even if we give them 100 yds a piece make sure neither of them see the Endzone.

If we play like we did last week no Houston trip for us in 2 weeks. Just need to get it done simple as. Do Your Job moment for every Pats player.

    Go Pats!

Tough to do both. If we keep Bell to under 100, even if Brown ends up with 2 Td's we should have enough possessions to win. If Bell goes nuts, we may not.

Obviously in an ideal world it'll be both but Bill normally takes away what they do best, which to be is Bell.

Looking forward to a late one here

Going briefly off topic, in case ye missed it, the Colts sacked their GM Ryan Grigson. Yes that's the whinging bítch who started Psigate. Add that to them not making the playoffs and it turned out to be a year of some well deserved Karma for them.

Jesus, it's like a bye week in here!

Well it's kind of a weird week for us Patriots fans. You have Belichick and Brady constantly talking to the media, just doesn't feel right!

It's a week in which those two are looking at momentous legacy changes too. It's a nervous time for New England Patriots fans because we've been talking them up for years and now this moment has arrived.

I'm more nervous now than I was in '96 when they reached their first Superbowl since I became a big fan and was a season ticket holder, more nervous than 2001 when we knew we had a real chance at the upset win in a Superbowl.

MMQB has some great articles this week.

Read an interesting one during the week.. 6 Brady/Belichek super bowls. Total score in the 6 First Quarters - Zero points

I reckon that a bad Super Bowl halftime show is still better than 90 minutes of any soccer game :)

That's actually an amazing stat when you think about it.

Watched the last quarter of SB49 again tonight. Just so magnificently intense.
Would be nice to have a comfortable 2TD win to enjoy tonight, but suspect that win or lose this team is destined to be always involved in ridiculous thrillers.

The two weeks of hype, media interviews, and constant searching for any type of story; I tend to tune it out at this stage.
In 2001 I couldn't get enough of the coverage, but after 7 trips to the SB, there's just too many people who want to get their opinion voiced (and rehash what others have said).

For me, winning SB49 would ease the pain of losing this one. I can't say I'd begrudge the Falcons/Ryan a SB. But it'll still hurt if we don't win. :(

In terms of the game, I don't know what to think. One friends of mine thinks we'll ease to victory, and another thinks the Falcons offense will shred us for ~35pts. I'm kinda in the middle. It's just going to be who performs on the day. Here's hoping it's us!! :)

Brady's 4th ring was the one I really wanted him to get, so anything else is icing on the cake from there afaic. Montana was a hero for me growing up and I'd never thought I see anybody blow Montana's records out of the water. But then along came Brady and he really has nothing more to prove to anybody. That said, for what the NFL put him through, their star player, a role model on and off the field and an absolute gentleman who has always, always put his team first and ego last. Getting a 5th ring tonight sure would be sweet.

Gameday. I have avoided most of the US media for the last 2 weeks which his hard when you live here :D But I have to say I hate hearing Pats fans banging on about blowouts over the last two weeks but I also can't stand hearing how the Falcons offense is the greatest and Julio Jones is Superman.

This is going to be tough battle for both teams I feel and both defenses will most likely put up a dogged fight. I feel turnovers will be the key today.

He did that at the last Superbowl also so hopefully we'll have the same end result tonight.
