That was after my switch back to 3-4-3 (GW14).

Did not pay much attention to the game during Christmas and played a kinda late in the week WC so lost quite a lot of cash and missed many opportunities to make some.

Can't really remember taking advantage of a high RV anyway. There're always cheap & mid-priced players matching and/or outscoring premium ones so I'll asumme it does not matter that much at this stage.

All a bit meh really.

Makes me think I should have used the 2nd wildcard earlier in January. What is the point in having a high team value when you can't deploy it until GW 33. Something to consider next year.

Most years I don't get too hung up on team value but I have chased rises. But this year I haven't made a transfer before any Friday press conferences. I literally turn off FPL from points update after last game of a game week until the night before the next round of games. I think I got into top 10k in GW8 and have stayed there since. Which would make it my best season to date in terms of consistency despite finishing in top 1000 twice.

This is a funny year though. Last week was the first time I've owned 2 strikers over 10 million with both Agüero and Kane. My 3rd one has never exceeded 6.5 million. I've never owned a defender over 5.5 million and 2 of my midfielders have always been below 6 million with one always below 5 million. Another one has never exceeded 8 million and the other 9 million. The only really expensive midfielder has been Sanchez. I'm basing positions as if they are fixed in this example.

Captain choices have been that extra luck this year. And based solely on bookie odds except where a midfielder had both better form and fixture. Haven't paid any attention to polls.

I watch price rises like a hawk at the start of the season and factor these in with fixtures and form.

Not afraid to take hits. Although ironically one of the weeks I saved a transfer (decided to play conservative) I missed out on Lukaku's four goals.

My logic is that team value will be important when using the final wildcard for the bench boost.
