Right I've one of these on it's way (Eir business gave me a decent deal and I sold my old M8 to Cex which covers the upgrade cost).

The charger issue puzzles me a bit (3.0 quick charge and USB-C). I assume my old M8 chargers won't work with the HTC 10?

I'll need a 2nd desktop charger and something for in car charging also.

    Any suggestions?

All your old chargers will work fine, just use correct cables/adaptors.

No, I am on the international SIM free model. I just happened to check for an update yesterday and there was one available. Supposed to be Camera and Performance enhancements.

Strange as mate on 1.80 and while it was a 3 variant, i rooted it for him, and changed the cid to international and then flashed ruu so its effectively stock. Not a sausage in terms of updates though.

I installed the latest viper rom from Xda. WiFi is terrible on it. I get one bar reception upstairs which was always full 4 bars on stock and on my m8

I only run viper and haven't had any Wi-Fi issues. This is normally controlled by the radio, which the ROM doesn't change. Do other people have the same issue?

    Thanks for the reply.

Could I use my existing home/car chargers and these adapters?

That one seems to convert standard full usb to usb c

I think these are better to convert your existing micro usb cables:

They appear to be QC 2.0 though.

I think I'll upgrade everything and benefit from quicker charging. It's not too expensive tbh.

You still get quick charge with adaptors, I haven't noticed any reduced charging speeds.

The adapters you're looking at aren't of any benefit unless you have lots of USB-A to USB-A cables lying around?

The other option is just to buy USB-A to USB-C cables.

So, yeah, already impatient for Nougat. I suppose by the end of October, going by HTC's track record.

Pretty broad. I would be expecting it by the end of November. HTC normally pump it out within 3 months, but Sense is also a lot lighter than it was....maybe even sooner.

On the HTC10, you have to use a charger which supports Quick Charge 3.0 to get the benefit of fast charging when using usb to usb type c cables. This is because the 10 doesn't actually support USB C fast charge like the Nexus 6P. The only benefit of the USB C connector is the obvious physical one, and USB 3 fast data speeds when plugged into a PC which supports USB 3/3.1. So anything which supports quick charge 2.0 or 3.0 will be fine as long as you have the adaptor cables to support type C on the phone.

It shows no location under my weather clock no matter where I go with wifi or data.

What are your settings under settings > location?

Anyone else noticing poor wifi signal? Mine is awful upstairs. By far the worst of any smartphone I have used over the last 4 years.
I have custom ROM, so I think HTC themselves won't help me.

It's nothing to do with the rom.

Mine shows about the same as it did on my last few phones (S6 edge+, M9, M8). Is your signal actually weaker, or just displays a low number of bars? Is it actually dropping connection?

No I realise it's nothing to do with the ROM, my point is the custom ROM invalidates warranty and HTC support doesn't it?
Low number of bars but apps skip and are slow, some sites don't load. Images take a long time to load eg on twitter and thejournal. I disable wifi and they work fine on 4G.
    Downstairs the wifi fine.

Are you on the latest firmware?

HTC are fine with repairs if it's a hardware issue. I'd still return it to stock before sending it in, if that's what you end up doing.

From reading online, one suggestion is to make your 10 use 2.4gHz only, not 5gHz.

    I'm on latest viper version, 10.2.8.0. Android version 6.0.1. Build number 1.90.401.5 8.0_g CL783302 release-keys
Yeah tried it on 2.4 and 5 at the weekend, both the same. Tried different bandwidth settings too, and made sure I was on a channel with no disturbance from other networks.
Cool, might have to revert to stock so

Early days for me but the HTC10 looks like it's going to be a good device. The improvements over the HTC One M8 are not enormous really, but the 10 is subtly better in every department

Quick charging is great. So is the camera.

    Greetings
Would anyone here recommend buying the phone on HTC's Irish website? It's at €650 with this voucher thing or €750 with a pair of JBL In Ear Phones worth €199 according to them. I don't care about the phones so I'm thinking of buying the phone through the website. Does anyone have any bad experiences buying the phone on their site stuff like returns & refunds? I know they have a "cooling off" period of 14 days during which you can return the phone but is this return valid like for example if you transfer all your data from your old phone and use the phone for a few days and you for some reason just don't like the phone and want to return it? Will they accept it and refund you? Or you can't use the pone you can't transfer your data and you just look at the phone for 14 days? Anyway sorry for the long email and I appreciate any answers. This is a massive investment for me but I think of it as a Smartphone and a Digital music player all in one. I got to use the touch screen in a Three shop but it was stuck on this pod so you can't even get the feel of it or mess about with it for a while. Thanks for reading.
    All the best
    Lorenzo

Buy it through the UK site using code HTC100UK, and use something like Parcel motel for delivery. It will work out close to €100 cheaper (around €560 + PM). Make sure you choose free express delivery.

    http://www.htc.com/uk/go/buy-htc-10/?utm_source=htc&utm_medium=htccom&utm_term=100orjbl&utm_content=bundle_to_buy&utm_campaign=htc10event

I don't know if I'd be buying with the intention of possibly returning, but I'm sure you can return it in its original condition within 14 days. You would just need to wipe your data.
