Is there a more pointless event than horse dancing?

I find it kind of relaxing. It must take a lot of skill from the rider to get the horse to cooperate.

Well, everyone on the inside of the track needs credentials to be there, and those folks did appear to be wearing IDs and official clothes. There was no malice evident, it just appears to be a "break the tape" stunt gone wrong. It was after the finish line, no impact on the result, but amateurish is the right word in my opinion.

Doesn't look like Rio though? The athletics track is blue, isn't it? And that venue looks like an indoor arena.

Great silver by Team GB in the women's trampoline. The wee British girl was so happy. They get higher than a Russian weightlifter.

    Dream come ture?
Well we never dreamt of a silver medal

Great to see they aren't content with 2nd, screw the plucky irish mentality and being happy with what you get. Not to say they are depressed with silver that is ;)

Sonia O'Sullivan retired achieving ALOT and left the scene with nothing left to prove. She achieved everything that she could and unlike others, reached her potential!. World and European Champion, was not fit in Atlanta 1996 but was going in as World Champ, poor girl got pilloried by the public. She silver at the later stage of her career in 2000. She is a bone fide sporting hero!

Anyone who says anything negative about her career is an idiot.

Gold medal winner the girl who beat her was a drug cheat

Yeah, I only saw the tweet, where the comments are not in English, but it clearly didn't look like Rio.

But in fairness, the way they did the ribbon break in the 20k walk earlier was pretty much the same, and they looked like they were confused whether they should string it across for 4th place or not.

Wow, France has over 100,000 registered rowers.

What an achievement to come so close to beating them.

I don't think people realize just how big rowing is in certain countries , so for Ireland to only have 3 boats in Rio and 2 reach Finals and I medal is some achievement .

The O Donovan lads are unreal. A small town with little rowing resources and cool as cucumbers. The story of the Olympics for this great Island.

Hopefully the hockey lads can get over Argentina though up against it going on results to date.
