My nightly sweep of the 4 local gyms within walking distance went well. One of my eggs hatched and it was an Evee with enough Candy to take me over the 25 needed to evolve one of the others I have. Ended up with a 1200+ CP Vaporeon. Happy Days

I just brought the dog for a walk, and planned to do some hunting, when I took out my phone, I was asked to login (I hadn't been asked that before).

I tried to but it wouldn't let me. I clicked "forgot my username" and entered my email address.. But it still hasn't been sent. Anyone know how long it might take?

I've heard that people who have downloaded it in Europe may have their accounts reset when it is officially released (which is fair enough), but I don't think that's the issue now, is it?

So, is the semicircle above the pokemon the max number of CP that pokemon can have when full?

I have a pidgey on 105 and a pidgeotto on 98; which is the best to boost and evolve?

Evolve the pidgey the pidgeotto will get a boost when evolved anyway

I think its down to your location so switch off your location login and switch it back. Is what i do when this happened to me.

The Koreans are going mad for it here.
However...it's only available in a small corner of the country due to government restrictions...so people are going there for the weekends etc to catch Pokemon

South Korean Pokémon Go players have been forced to leave their home towns and flock to a remote city close to the North Korean border in order to play because of the country’s mapping restrictions.

As a location-based game augmented reality game, Pokémon Go relies on data from Google Maps to function, but South Korean security restrictions on mapping data have blocked Google from providing map features across a significant proportion of the country, including realtime information, 3D maps, personal transport directions and indoor maps.

“Due to government restrictions on maps data, it’s impossible for Pokémon Go to work properly using Google Maps service in South Korea,” a person familiar with the matter told Reuters.

One user posted on an internet message board: “I didn’t go to some big tourist attraction; all I did was walk around for tens of kilometres to play a game. But I’m more satisfied with this than any other trip. I would still be in Sokcho had it not been for an urgent issue.”

Bus tickets from the capital, Seoul, to the city have sold out, according to reports.

The Max CP for each Pokemon also scales with your level, so if you max one and level up there should be room to power that pokemon up once or twice again

You get medals every so often for distance traveled.

What differences should we expect when it does go live here as opposed to the US version that we're using? Our own servers for one i assume, but other than that?

No we wont have our own irish servers thats not how the game works, the main differences are you will be able to get updates from the itunes store without having to relog into the US or whatever other itunes account you used, also you will be able to purchase stuff from the shop using your normal irish itunes account

It has been released in Germany, UK and 'some other European Countries' over the past 24 hours, and the servers are taking a battering.

I still can't log in, and about 2-3 hours ago, I can't even submit a "Forgot your username?"

Presumably if we've signed in with Google all our progress will be saved, so we could uninstall and install the official when it's released and lose any progress, right? I know we shouldn't have to uninstall anyway.

Someone earlier suggested that when it actually goes live here everyone will be reset. Be interesting to hear of this is true from the UK, I actually wouldn't mind, everyone starting off from the same level again would make it more exciting as everyone would be trying to reclaim their gyms etc

According to reddit people have uninstalled the US and installed the official UK without any probs. Some had to do it twice to be able to buy from the store. Didnt lose any progress though.

You can purchase stuff via the android version that you get via a separate apk download.

Nope its all linked to the PTC or google account you login with, deleting and reinstalling will be grand

I think you get stuff for the 3DS games or something? Not entirely sure, theres speculation that if they do give incentives for them for Pokemon Go down the line they will also implement some kind of account linking with the Google accounts so everyone gets them

I think it's for more security - I'm not sure though.

I am now wishing I had signed up using my Google account. At least that way, I'd still be able to log in.
I can't retrieve any of my info, and I'm 99.9% sure that it's all correct, yet I still can't log in.

The only reason i didnt use my google account was the issue with data being accessible by them but i think that was fixed in the update yesterday so i dont think there's much difference
