Sell in the yard if you can id say. I saw about 10 hols/fr bullocks about that weight in Castlearea mart last week. Some didn't open at all. Best price was 620 for a 480 kg one. Maybe they don't sell that well in the west though. There was a lot of fr cows out as well.
Sold 9 bulls last week that I reared as calves. Average 14 months about 400kgs one with another, some JEx crosses but some good'ish FR's. €585 but I delivered them about 50 miles away. Happy with the price and glad to get the buyer. Phone was not hopping with interest.

Spent more than I had planned. €1075 a piece delivered

Honestly they are too deer if you do sums at where the trade is headed but thats almost always the way.

But you wouldn't buy any better I the marts at least so if you need lawn mowers and a way to put money out of harms way there's madder things you could do...

Any photos of them Chops? Sound like right good cattle. At those weights you could finish off spring grass with no meal.

Have a fella coming to look at this lady at home, 3yo cow/heifer and a small bit shy of 700kg. Have a price in my head but think I might be a bit strong. Anyone care to put a roughish value on her? B89801CE-AED9-4A99-82BD-F9C9E623BA95_zps4r5lceig.jpg

What age / price are they?
Am I right in saying that there is two shades of colour there, black and brown from the two lots?

17 there in total. 6 from the other day €1080 are 13 months on the card but have the feeling they were more than a week old when registered !
8 came about 6 weeks ago and are 2 year olds at €1107.
The 6 are a cleaner black alright. The single red lad just over 24 months is the last home born animal left in the place. Will be a touch sad when he heads for the chop.
To be honest probably paid a bit over the top but am delighted with what I have.
Don't know but there is something nice about looking at a batch of same breed in a field rather than a mixed lot.
Dad was always a Hereford man so that bit extra special having what I have in my first year.

was in Kilmallock today for a short while with a few weanling bulls, trade was sh*t for bulls
one lot there was 5 or 6 CH bulls that were early 2015, around 490 kgs only made about 1000 they were serious animals,
cracking black LM bull 500kgs made 950

    mine went poorly too
    440kg and 415kg Oct 15 born bulls made 800
another fella was a bit backward 345kgs only made 630....
sickened, sold lighter fellas in May for way more,
    bullocks were making alot more

not inspiring for the rest of the year:mad::mad::mad:
