Windows Update Grrrr

    After installing the latest windows update and restarting my machine just crashes and restarts this has happened the 2 times I've downloaded the update.

    Running Windows XP Home Edition
    Amd Athlon 1 gig
    128 RAM



    Any one offer help ?
    Apart from switch to Linux which I intend to do soon.

    Can you boot into Safe Mode and uninstall the fix?

    I went back to last known good config from the F8 Menu so it's ok but I'd like to know why it ****ed up my pc ?

    It is auto-update.

    Not sure as the auto update didnt tell me and I cudnt boot back in to check.

    Turned off auto update anyway.

    It is more than likely a security update.I had the same problem after downloading xp home service pack 1 kept on crashing after that security update, find out wich one it is untick and reinstall everything else bar that Q? one :)
