Playing .avi files on P2

Hi, Is there any way to play .avi movies or VCD's on the Playstation 2. AFAIK you need some sort of mod chip for it but I'm not sure. Also I can't play mp3's on it - I have a cd with about 12 of my albums (all legal) on it and it can't recognise it. Thanks for the help Bacchus

Hi,

the Ps2 wont play VCD's or MP3's as well as a lot of DVDR,RW
