ok, this may seem a tad bizzare, but if i get a good nights sleep as in 10, 11 hours i will be grumpy all day and my mind wont work aswell, dont feel tired, just unable to think properly

But...... if i get 7 or 8 hours and have to drag myself out of bed i am in a good mood for the day, just generally happier and more optimistic..... and thinking as clear as cyrstal

dunno how this one works, but its been like this a while now......

    yeah,
i feel like that alot too,
I heard too much sleep is bad for you and that it's best to get up after you first wake up.
Gives a better sense of well being i reckon.

Could be to do with sleep cycles I don't know alot about them but a girl I know swears by them,

for example I think her sleep cycles was roughly every four hours so she would only sleep for 4, 8 or 12 hours a night so sometimes she would force herself to stay awake for two extra hours and only get four hours when she could have gotten six. I don't know exactly how they work and I can't recall how you work yours cycle out, but I do know mine is five hours.

Look it up on the net and see if you can get some more information.

Are you sure you have got the full 10/11 hours ?

Maybe you were woken by something after 7/8hrs and then went back to sleep before you'd realised it...

Try talking to a sleep therapist. A sleep study may be helpful.

Get some 5 HTP from your local health shop. Take 1 or 2 at night before bed. It should help regulate your sleep a little and help with mood swings... google the stuff for more info.

Some telemarketer got me out of bed at 12:30 pm today, which pissed me off seeing as I wasnt in bed until around 4am.

Theres nothing better than in the middle of winter when its pissing down outside, its getting dark at 4pm,its freezing outside......and your just laid back sound asleep ir relaxing in bed getting up some time between 2 and 5pm.And if its a Friday you feel refreshed and more able to go out that night.

I slept until 4:30 on a Friday in the aforementioned weather conditions about a year ago.Its weird doing it around christmas-you go to bed when its dark and you get up 10 odd hours later and its dark again, completely missing out on any sunlight.Probably not the best for your health.

"but if i get a good nights sleep as in 10, 11 hours"

I dont think 11 hours is a 'good nights sleep',if you in your teens..I dont think you are from what I remeber..the most you should be getting is about 9 and a half, adults should get between 7 and 9 per night.

The thought of not eating for 11 hours would make me feel grumpy anyways :P

Have a sleep routine,as in : Go to bed at the same time every night (I know that isnt always possible especially on weekends, but try).

Get up at the same time every morning, even on weekends .

Try to have your dinner about 5 to 6 hours before you sleep.

And this is a bit of a weird one..only use your bed for sleep..sex is ok but **** til you are absoloutly exzuasted so you go straight to sleep :) (no pillow talk for me,I have to get my sleep pattern sorted out darling !) What I mean is,dont watch tv in bed,or read or whatever other strange things you do there,so that when you get into your bed your brain knows its for sleep ,so your body essientially starts to shut down soon as you get in..

I used to have completly ****ed up sleep patterns..I could go 2 -3 days without sleep, then Id sleep for 3/4 of a day..it does your mind in completly.I used to get a half day from school on wednsdays so id be home at 2,id go to sleep and wake up the next morning at 8am,get up get ready for school..complete waste of a day !

    k..rock on..!

    Tom
