Graham Barrett has agreed a three year deal with Coventry City. A good for him in my opinion. Hes at the age where he needs to get a good run in the first team and establish himself as a quality striker.

macca has shown he can develop youths with his handling of partridge, hopefully the same will apply to young barret, good to have another irish youngster playing 1st team football

Good move was never going to get a chance at Arsenal so lets hope he can follow in the footsteps of another young irish striker who went to coventry.

Echo what Sposs said, best of luck to the lad.

Shame he had to leave the Gooners to get first team football but I suppose with the options they already had he was fighting a uphill battle.

Good luck to the lad and I'm sure he'll do well in Coventry.

well done barrett but its sad to see a big english club letting the likes of Barrett, upson, (and I am sure a few more I cant think of) go to another club.

Ok their are very talented foreign players at AFC but they should give the young lads a fair go. Look at Ashley cole ?!

Yeah, just read about that myself, but apparently the talks are at an advanced stage and Coventry are very interested in him.

Hopefully it'll work out for him.

Yeah he's seems to be going alright, good move for the Lad, needs a bit of experience that he'll never get in reserve games.

Hope it goes well for him there.

I too am disapointed that he wasnt given the chance as a gooner, especially since wenger mentioned him as a replacement for Suker when he left :(

Cant see this as a good move for ireland ,the guy is a premiership player and wont play in premiership with coventry.

Hoped he would have went to a premier league club.

Hopefully it will just be a stepping stone to bigger and better. It is a pity because I don't think that Jeffers is that much better then him, and Bergkamp has one season left in him at most so he could npt have been too far away from the squad for the first team for next season. wneger may come to regret this, like he did the sale of Upson last season to Birmingham.

No matter how **** you are if your not french, wenger doesnt want to know, hardly the sign of a great manager he's putting the youth system at Arsenal Back ten years.
