If he wins, I lose all faith in humanity as an intelligent species. My faith in humanity is already shaky enough due to Euorovision still being around in the first place...

Oh my god, i hope Austria win. That is probably the most amazing performance in television ever. 100-1 to win? I especially the like the cow head.....and the heavy metal section.....and the bizarre dancing girls

Bah, forget that. Just watch the Iceland entry and ignore the rest of the show. Nyom. Well-better than watching Tatu hold hands or take off their skirts (yes, I remember that Eurovision, something of an awakening at 7:))

I just happened to see some the end of the Iceland performance and the start of the Austrian one.
That Icelandic singer was hot alright, and well the Austrian song was a bit too weird.
I also saw the GB performance, and can someone confirm that your one was in fact singing out of key. Sounded terrible.
    Great Britan 0 points. :)

What a prediction by me. :p
The whole thing was a farce with regards voting. Too many neighbours voting for each other.

Yep, completely outta key (ouch my ears :() /methinks that the UK just didn't want to win (just like Austria (like, wtf?)). Had to laugh at Latvia getting points at the last minute, leaving the UK all alone on null points!

Nothing better than 3 hours of quality trash entertainment to keep the mind boggling.

Mickey wasn't playing his instrument now was he? In all fairness though he did a great job.

    It is what it's.

There are alot of happy bookies in Ireland tonight.I think that the style that won Ireland the eurovision for all those years has went out of fashion with the mainlanders. While the UK has been trying to get more mainland in the form of pop music, failing also. The problem with these isles is that the mainlanders dont particularly like the style that we have, but if we were to send something that would appeal to them it would be branded a no hoper by the Irish and so nobody would be watching and even less would care if we won.

And of course there is the fact that Mickey was clearly tired of singing that same fecking song for the billionth time. You could really hear the lack of enthusiam in the last few weeks when he was performing on show X the same song that he was obviously sick of hearing. Not that it was a bad song, and he did do it well tonight, but it still fell slightly short of the energy it had back when the Your a Star finals were on.Perhaps they should have given him the right to sing a self written song.

I cant believe that Belgium did so well-according to one of the presenters(wogan or marty cant remember)because Belgium has 4 languages they decided to sing the song in a made up language. In other words they were singing meaningless gibberish. And their former lead"singer"was apparently dropped for neo Nazi connections
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/2781265.stm

Did anybody agree that it was worth watching for the female entrants?Usually it is composed mainly of has beens and drag queens and god knows what else. But it was worth watching for the birds in the French,Turkish,Icelandic,Swedish,Portueguse and a few other acts. Not to mention the girl presenting in the studio and the French vote caller.

I didnt see much of TATU bar a news clip but it sounded pretty bad. There was alot of bad feeling for them in the venue-I presume its old anti russian hostillity.

I was half rooting for the mad Austrian once it was apparent we wouldnt win.:D Cant believe he did so well.

Did anyone else think that the last vote giving guy looked suspiciously like Des Bishop of dont feed the gondalas fame?Perhaps its on its way back and they were doing an undercover skit thingy.Or perhaps not.....

    :D Like fvck there is'nt!

The Austrian entry can only come about as the reult of a crazy drunken dare, I briefly thought it might cause a sensentaion, the sensation being the death of Eurosong, but sadly some semblence of sanity took hold....

Can't wait for next year, it'll takes two nights to complete!

    Mike.

Our song was a below par song, never liked it, sounds like a rip-off of a Enrique Eglesias song but aren't all Euro songs?.Although I think kudos to the Estonian entry, it was the only one that didn't sound like a Euro song. Would've given it the 12.

Winamp to the left of me, Winamp to the right, here I am... listening to

<-- We've got the world tonight (this year's IE entry

Fly on the wings of love (prev EV winner) -->

playing simultaneously, the leadup, rhythm and tempo to the choruses synch'd perfectly with each other.

Anyway, the dancers behind him, seemed to be very underdressed for the occassion(moths in the wardrobe?), even the 'strippers had left a bit more to the imagination :p.

    It is what it's.

Man, its not often i agree with Gopher but yeh the 'totty' factor was through the roof this year. The UK (yes, she was about 3 semitones out!) and Swedish and Icelandic singers ....omfg rar :)

Tatu were brutal. They couldnt hold a note to save thier lives, im assuming people only voted for them for comedy value (ditto Austria).

Whoever mentioned that Mickey Joe was singing a rip-off clearly wasnt listening to Freestyler (not by the bomfunk MCs but some second rate eastern european entry) and Kiss Kiss which won the damn competition.

and Kiss Kiss which won the damn competition.

I tuned in to see the final results, and the winner sooo sounded like this song, pity Holly wasn't around, although as has been mentioned, the honey line up this year was very good.

Kiss Kiss was originally a Turkish song that Holly Valance covered(yes,it is embarrasing to know that I admit:D ).So really I would just put it down to the Turkish pop music style that Turks(and the rest of Europe now)like.
I actually heard the original Kiss Kiss once when searching through the AM stations when bored and presumably picking up one from Turkey.

And the UK got nil points ah. And Terry Defendend saying it was because of the iraq war (Sorry war on Iraq). Sorry Terry but it was a dreaful song and the singers couldn't sing and your just a big "Cry Baby". See what I did there. God I am nearly as funny as the Zany and Waky Hosts. Laugh Out Loud.

Michelle Rocha: It's getting Exiting pat, isn't
Pat Kenny: I have been exitied all night Michelle.

    Something like that anyway.

God I think I know to much about the Eurovision.

Holly Valance was a cover version. and The singer at the Eurovision couldn't sing.

I think Belgium should have one.

The russians got a very bad reception.

80's coming back, loved that song.. they looked like a real band, I wonder if they have a CD. They were called Rufus.
