Players being drafted in...

I've had some complaints about teams drafting new players in for the
IQCL Finals to 'make up numbers'.

Now from GI's point of view, we had five LPBs lined up - me, Mouse,
toilet, Corinthian and KopKid. KopKid is finished with Quake since
leaving college, so we asked Ronin to play with us. With the IQCL
Finals scheduled for July 11, Corinthian can't make it because of a
wedding. So we have to go looking for another of our UCD friends
mayhap...

CW say that Cream may not be able to make the IQCL Finals,
leaving Von, Tomb, Blade, Koloth and Beast. Latest rumour is
that Beast can't come either, so they are looking to asking Slick
and/or G1bby to come down from the north to play for them.

What do you think should be done in these cases?

Now, its starting to get ridiculous. Maybe we can just start the next season. The "transfer period" seems to be in full flight.

Also the fact that GI and nD get first say on all good players is a bit depressing.

Um replacing ppl with ninjas seems a bit over kill.
Ronin is way better then Corinthian.
Clan II will not be replacing Regi.

It leaves one question unanswered though Cloud.
I DONT NOT FOR ONE MOMENT suggest that this is what is
happening but, any clan could claim that they can't get
a member there and replace them with a ninja-sub.

Beast should be here since it's been moved back to the
11th of july, but then again I dont want to speak for him.
Losing Beast or Cream is "NOT GOOD" in anyones book and

I dunno. I think its going to have to be one of those
things that we just have to live with because of the
realities involved in getting 50+ ppl together on one day.

I dont like it but...:/

Well I don't know about nD (since they seem
to have vanished) but we haven't taken on any
ninja players since your brother :-] All the
rest of the squad are Q2 freaks.

THis is the second time writing this because of that lovely censor

anyway ( and the back button did not work!)

emm .... Well firstly i had better say that i won't be able to play for FENIANS
at the iqcl cos i am off to america tomorrow!!!!!

and since my replacement RONIN! has been nicked from under our noses!( thanks Cloud!)
it leaves fens in a bit of a muddle as it seems that flav won't be ab;e to make it either!

So JOHN i guess you will have to unregister me ..

(i was able to play in the original date... amybe if ya delay long enough till i scome bacjk for my repeats!!!

Anyway .... maybe JOHN ( now i don't want to offend ya John cos u are one of the soundest cquake blokes going)
foresaw this situation and that is why there exists this incredible rule that
teams do not have to register players by a certain date!( a prerequisit in every team sport!!)

SERioulsy guys!!!!!!
This rule should be applied next year!!!!!( with a good debate!)

Well WE aren't replacing people with ninjas
for the sake of a win. I am trying to get
some players together for a 5 on 5 game as
opposed to a 3 on 5 as would be the case if
just me, Mouse and toilet show up.

I tried my best to ask KopKid to come to the
finals, but no luck (I think it was on a public
server so no doubt some people heard me ask!).
He's starting work soon and wants to take some
weeks off before then (no more Quake apparently).

Corinthian genuinely has a wedding on that day,
I have better things to be doing than making
dodgy excuses! Ask his cousin yourself :-]

Ronin is a good team player, considering he
has only been playing a few months...

Still don't know who our fifth player will be,
probably another of the Ebola ninja clan, or
else that newbie Sooge-oy.

I do think the two players we get will be
rougly equivalent to the ones we would have
had. I hope the rest of the clans will do
likewise if they are in need of a player or
two.

As you say, the dates won't suit everybody.

for the clan during the qualifying round seems
a very unfair, especially when they are
Northern Ireland Ninjas or any sort of Ninja's
for that matter.
I reckon you should only be able to draw from the
players that you named at thes start of the season
as your team for the finals, and that have played
at least 1 match during that season.

Otherwise you'll end up with warped results that
don't hold with the each clans track record.

One other thing about IQCL, the fact that there
were 3 LPBs on most teams and only 2 HPWs seems
a bit stupid seeing as we outnumber u guys by
over 2 - 1. I know u could have had HPWS on each
team more if yah wanted but look how all the games
went:
3 LPB's and 2 HPWs
How bout next year we try 2 LPBs and 3 HPWs.
U'll get more clans into it and it will resemble
the actual ratio of LPBs to HPWs.

OK, first will end up lpb, and second hpb, but, yea is that bad? People will play games where they have a chance.

I reckon it'd be alright this year to replace
players John as long as ppl are happy u're not
replacing solid players with ninjas! But ye
need some sort of ruling on it for next season.

That 2 LPBs and 3 HPWs will also bridge the gap
of LPB/HPW clans, ie maybe we'll start mixing our
HPWs and LPBs and form some permanently mixed clans
Instead Irish quake being ruled mainly by LPB
members only clans.

I just got 1 question...
Why do people have a problem with me playing for GI???
I`m only playing 4 months after all....
And most of the players out there can kick my ass in 1v1 and I hardly ever play team games only the games with hibs in the last few weeks.
And my clan aren`t around enough at the moment...

From what I can gather there aint a single nD player in the country, so as to how they're getting first say on all the good players is beyond me.

hang on now this is similar to the argument earlier in the year that
.... eh... lpb's are allowed but pings of 20 are not!!!

but people thpught this was ok... so..... if people
are coming in you can't stop them cos they are too good!
obviously the only reason you want players to come in
is because they will be worse!( you hope )

I'm sorry but aren't most competitions run according
to the rules set down by the organiser? well this is
no different and CW unlike nearly every bloody clan
out there never drafted in "Ninja's" such as a 12 year
old Dest to play with a University clan, so whats
good for the goose is good for the gander.

Let us know now if you intend to "BEND" the rules
ever so slightely to suit INC cause their afraid of us.

Anyway we may not need new ppl if Beast is back in
Ireland by the new date set for the finals but if we
do we're taking whoever the hell we want according
to the rules of the competition. If GI can take Ronin
and if I'm not mistaken also had yanks playing for them
well then we can do the same.
