    He's at it again.

The Sunday Times has a piece on his latest stance, this time its all about national blood and the gene pool.
He (Barrett) syays it is not an economic question as to whether
Ireland can bear the influx of refugees but a "biological one".
He argues that the introduction of foreigners in large numbers
would alter the nation irreversibley and should concern ppl who want to keep Ireland "as an indepentent identity worth protecting for its own sake" (echos of Nice Treaty)...He calls for a form of polictal guerrilla warfare and says Ireland needs to clear its head of liberalism...

Interestingly Aine Ni Chonaill of the Immigration Controll Platform
was keeping her distance from Barrett. Not sure if thats a good or bad thing!

    Mike.

I read that article too. Very amusing. I think aine ni chonnail wishing to disassociate from him is a good thing. If she can barely get any support for her policies, and she wishes to have no affiliation with him, then what chances does he have?

At least, I hope he has no chances...

    *mutters*
We need to start paying teachers a lot more now and introduce a mandatory course on civics, ethics and morality to both Junior and Leaving Certs, if this is that sort of crap floating around out there.

If you want to be entertained, you can hop over to http://bbs.thumped.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6757&perpage=30&pagenumber=1 and see similar opinions being put forward by Irish www.stormfront.org idiots.

I agree, the sooner Civics gets tought to LC level the better. But people have to be taught to think critically and creatively. No way can it turn into dogma. That would require exceptional teachers.

I don't worry about the Irish members at Stormfront none of them has the wit or energy to change anything but Barrett, if he's given the chance has. In a multi-seat PR system it only takes a few
disenchanted voters to put him and his follow travellers in a postison of some sort of power be it local or national.

    That would require exceptional teachers.
Hence the reason for paying teachers more!

Em. Okay apart from the fact that everyone who knows anything about biology knows that its healthier to mix the gene pool up as much as you can (that's why we have sex in the first place, rather than reproduce asexually), but even if Barrett was right, does anyone honestly believe that he was lucky with the DNA he got? Wouldn't an increase in the number of people who aren't Justin Barrett be greeted by anyone who was worried about the nation's gene pool?
