Netgear DG814 / Netsource problem

I've just been connected to Netsource but am having trouble connecting to them with my new Netgear DG814 router. I've entered the setting that came with the start up pack - username, password, fixed IP address. The problem seems to be that the Router cannot get an IP address for it's WAN port. It remains
0.0.0.0 and unable to connect to Netsource.
Has anyone connected to Netsource with this router and had this problem and solved it? or connected to Netsource with no problem? How did you get the IP address for the WAN port?

Assuming you have tried to enter your IP number and the Netgear device keeps defaulting back to 0.0.0.0 I wonder is there another menu setting to allow you to select Dynamic or Static IPs?

If so, you obviously need to change the setting to Static and enter the fixed IP number again.

I'm not familiar with the Netgear product.

Called Netsource. The username they gave me didn't include @netsource.ie at the end of it.
I was told that a couple of these pages went out without this part of the username. So anyone who got their username without this end...just add it.

Watch that router, it gets pretty hot so dont cover it or put it anywhere without ventilation or you'll find it repeatedly rebooting and your connection dying.

    Careful now!

Netsource specify PAP authentication in their instructions, but only CHAP seems to work for me, and a few others... try that.

Not very nice to leave on 24h/24!

Perhaps one should get a dustbin fire extinguisher - the ones that hang upside down over a high risk container that will automatically detonate in the case of combustion!

The SnapGear devices run pretty cool. They use a Motorola Cold fire processor.

Unfortunately the installation / set-up instructions are as clear as mud :(

    Watercooling tbh.

Or at least slap on a heatsink with/without fan onto it with a bit of ActicSilver thermal paste+cement mixture.

Is this really gonna be a problem if I have it on 24/7?
I take it that if I have it sitting on the desk uncovered it'll be ok?

I'm due to be up and running with Netsource by Thursday next....and this is the modem/router that I'm gonna be using.
