    Sir your taste is impeccable

i seem to remember putting a"cassette recorder" up to the telly
when i was 11, to record the music from the "desert chase"
    sequence in Raiders.
i later cycled around listening to it on my (huge) walkman
.....oh wait that was last week.

sticking to the original idea of the thread...

the first star wars trilogy - the imperial march is such a malevolent sounding piece of music...

    bladerunner's was pretty class too.

The English Patient - may be a 'chick flick' but the music is amazing.

Also The Thomas Crown Affair - simply because the music suits the film perfectly...it's never obtrusive, just a perfect part of the whole.

Yeh I gotta say BladeRunner and Virgin Suicides.
Do the Beatles movies count as Orignal Soundtrack??
If so then Magical Mystery Tour.
And then there's films with amazing themes. Like Jaws and The Godfather.

It's not really suiting the thread, but True Romance has some of my favourite music. Hans Zimmer is da man.

Anyone who doesn't say "Koyaanisqatsi" is either a liar, or hasn't heard the soundtrack.

Nightmare Before Christmas comes a close second.

I'd have to go with Black Rain - for the Hans Zimmer pieces - quite excellent, have been used in plenty of films since.

Thin Red Line - Hans Zimmer again i think ?

1 or 2 nice haunting pieces in Gladiator

Platoon - adajio on G or something like that (spelling ?)

    Blade Runner is great also

    Akira soundtrack

You needn't shudder!! I wouldn't exactly call myself a fan of 'My Heart Will Go On' but the rest of the soundtrack is absolutely amazing!! They really captured the emotion of the whole thing, brilliant :)
