    Question 4: In China, why is it seen as unlucky to give someone a clock for their birthday?

    I work with a Hong Kong national, she tells me that giving a clock in cantonese its called "sung zhong" it sounds the same as
    "farewell to the departed" (also sung zhong) so giving a clock is like wishing them dead
