Well it's been announced. Any matches from quarter finals on that are drawn after 80 minutes of normal time, 20 minutes of extra-time and 10 minutes of 'sudden death' extra time will be decided on a drop-goal shoot out.

Each team will have five drop goals to be taken by different players.

    Full story here

    So what do ye think?

    Good or bad idea?

I think it a really good idea and I'm hoping for a few draws come World Cup time
    :)

I'd say Keith Woods will be gagging for it, he's been looking to score a drop goal since forever!!

plus they have to decide it someway and tossing a coin just seems wrong... you need to have a villan

I think it is a good idea. . . but what happens when the five are finished and its still equal .. . Could be funny if we get down to the pack taking drop goals . . .

Maybe it would be better to have the out-half kick the drop goals but from increasing distances / angles ?/

if they want to solve a games by drop goals why dont they just leave the forwards out totaly. I think its a stupid one dimensioned way to end a match.
i play forward and wouldnt be too happy to see all my hard work go down the drain just cause the backs cant kick drop goals.
why didnt the irb use there initative and find a way the forwards could battle it out too!

2 scrums, one on each others 22, see you gets a try before the ball is turned over, or whatever.

exactly something that takes a team effort. Why should 5 poor suckers take it all on their shoulders

I think it's a good idea, I can't see it ever being needed but it would be really exciting.

If a forward is a good drop goal taker I'm sure he will take one, otherwise quit your moaning and go bend over and push, thats your job.

I have it on good authority thats all front row do, and even some times they make us poor second rows do the pushing.

exactly the front row shold not straighten their legs because it breaks the pushing platform of the second rows blah blah who cares really? anyway i play hooker so pushing rarely comes into my scrummaging.

No but i really do think the drop goal system is crap i woyldnt like having to trust the back line
