Here's the news story... they're debating it over on the Leeds Utd Forum on the BBCi web site...
LONDON, May 7 (Reuters) - Ex-Leeds United manager David O'Leary says he would be "absolutely delighted" to return to his crisis-hit former club.

Leeds narrowly avoided relegation with a 3-2 win at Arsenal on Sunday after a nightmare season and are almost 80 million pounds ($128.8 million) in debt.

The club off-loaded six key players during the season, sacked manager Terry Venables and chairman Peter Ridsdale resigned.

O'Leary, who led Leeds to the semi-finals of the Champions League two seasons ago, was sacked at the end of last season when his side finished fifth and failed to secure a spot in Europe's most lucrative club competition. "I have been out in the streets and I keep getting asked all the time 'now Peter Ridsdale's gone what's to stop you going back?'" O'Leary told BBC Radio.

"(...) I always had the fans with me and I have just a sneaking feeling deep, deep down that some time along the way I might get back there and manage them. If I did I would be absolutely delighted.

"I didn't want to leave and if I was asked again and if I was to sit down with the right people I would take it again without a doubt."

Leeds appointed former Sunderland manager Peter Reid until the end of the season after Venables was dismissed in March.

Ridsdale, who had sanctioned O'Leary's heavy investment in the squad in their bid for continued Champions League success, resigned 10 days later.

According to Sky Sports Peter Reid looks set to be installed as full time boss.

Wouldn't mind seeing O Leary back though. Deserves another go with a decent administration IMO

I dont think theres any chance that Leeds will go for O'Leary again. Reid will most likely get the job imo.

I think Reid will get the job - they can't afford a famous name so they'll have someone who should be able to box clever, and cheap!

    Mike.

Looks like Peter Reid has just been named fulltime manager of Leeds Utd.

I think that is a good decision. He is a good manager and Sunderland got what they deserved for sacking him.

some1 said to me today he's a great manager for a working class kind of club, which Leeds are. Its easy to forget the great work he did with sunderland although has any1 any clue as to why sunderland collapsed? cos that did start under reid...
