    Hi,

I'm not sure if this is off topic but i thought this would be the best place to ask...if it is off topic, then sorry.

Heres my problem: There is a line splitter installed on my phone line, which is stopping me from getting ADSL, and it's a real pain in the ass having only a 28k dialup connection. The other half of the line isn't even being used, and probably never will be, so eircom don't need it to provide their USO. I just want to know is it possible to force eircom to remove it from the line, or does anyone know about any costs involved in getting it removed?

    Thanks,
    andrew

    Not at all.

Your just in for a bit of grief :)

You need to either order a new line or switch to a new carrier - UTV or ESAT.

If you order a new line, Eircom are obliged to give you an unsplit one if you specify it and they also must unsplit your line if you go to a new carrier.

Muck wrote a brilliant step by step on how to do this, but im having trouble searching for it.

Search for the phrases DACS, Pair gain , line splitter in the forum. Theres plenty of info there.

They will not unsplit it without you getting yourself on the phone to the very lovely boys and girls on... 1901! :ninja:
