OK, like a few (a lot?) of you im now on I-Stream and never got a call. Furthermore, i cant log into http://broadbanddownload.eircom.net and apparently others cant.

So, if we cant log in to check how much we've downloaded, does this mean we arent being 'rated' yet?

And also, because we havent got "the call", but can log in under our usernames & passwords, is it possible eircom could be charging our use as a phone call?

I saw something about this on the open mailing list.
What error message are you getting-If its error 403 access forbidden, it means that some of the ip address ranges are missing from the acl on the webserver. i guess uou could send an email to eircomnet/istream support giving your ip address-they should forward it on the whoever is looking after the webserver.

If you are able to login (I assume you mean your adsl connection is working), from what I can gather the downloads are being collated on a radius session basis, and that this is global rather than selective-in otherwords if you are able to login, your downloads are logged.

I'm not sure what your last statement means-if you are using your existing modem/dun coneection to login (ie if you dial up), then you are going to be charged on a per call basis.

I just meant that if i couldnt log into the download usage-thingy, maybe the i-stream connection was being logged as a phone call; i figured since i hadnt got a call saying it was activated, maybe it meant the istream connection account wasnt active and the line usage would be charged at the phone rate till then (it kinda makes sense, if you think about it :D )

Just seems too good to be true (well, except the cap :ninja: )

Yes, im getting the 403 forbidden, but as i said i can log into istream no problem.

Its not a phonecall-so you won't..You may find your billing starts from the day it was provisioned-i don't know though.

I imagine access is only available to i-stream customers-has this facility been officially launched-ie where did you hear about it?
If it is officially availoable send off an emaiol with your ip address-if it is not officially launched it may be in final testing, i suppose

Very last page of the I-stream starter book:

"To monitor your download quantities please visit http://broadbanddownload.eircom.net "
