Yeah, the website seems to indicate that the 90 euro installation product "includes the use of a modem for the duration of the product" as indicated by the single asterisk after the price.

For the record, this is what the website says:
    Self Installation €90*
    Engineer Install €190*
    Monthly Rental €49.49

    * Includes the use of a modem for the duration of the contract.
Modem remains the property of Esat BT.
    Very misleading.

<edit: Afterthought - may not be misleading. Need confirmation that 90 euro service does not include use of modem before making this judgement. >

i sent this to their customer care department
im wondering why your advertising your iol services with a modem for 90 euro installed ........when in fact when i called up to sign up i was informed that its 145 euro with the use of the modem ......this is compleatly misleading and wrong its either that or esat doesnt train their sales teams to well

who else can i send it to so i can vent my anger over their misleading ads :D

Perhaps you have to pay for the install pack and first months rent at the same time?

If you don't get a satisfactory answer, you could consider complaining to the Director of Consumer Affairs.

First of all we need to know what the full story is. According to the FAQ, you get the use of a modem with the 90 euro self install product. If this is the case, then the website is not misleading and the sales staff are in the wrong.

The website is right. That girl is wrong. I called up today 3 different times and was told the same thing just to make sure they knew what they were on about.
