    Try installing this.

    http://rpm.rutgers.edu/rpm-html/librpm.so.0.html

then try running ldconfig after that. i had something similar happen to me when i was installing Eterm.

    any other ideas?

Sorry bout that, i didnt look down the page enough
    try this one.

    http://www.megaloman.com/~hany/RPM/librpm.so.0.html

the reason your getting the message is either the library isnt installed or it cant be found.
Im not an expert on this, i had a similar problem and isntalling the correct lib and running that ldconfig sorted it for me.

its weird cos the rpm should be installed when redhat was put on.

I've run into this type of problem when installing rpm's over the years.

The simplest way to fix it is to use a graphical rpm installer and search for that library file. There should be an rpm with the library file located somewhere on your install disks. Install the rpm with the library file and then go back and install your original rpm.

    Works for me.

I don't know - try man rpm, this is the manpage, or help page and should give you the command line options.

    I'm stricly a gui kinda guy:D
