PDF Creation Question

I've designed a brochure in MS Publisher, saved as PS, and converted to PDF with distiller.

The problem is that the screenshots (crystal clear in Publisher) are terribly grainy in the PDF.

What settings do I change to get the best quality screenshots in the PDF?

    Thanks in advance,
    Dave.

Just a thought, but does distiller not do PDFs directly from within Publisher? (Instead of converting and converting again)

    It is what it's.
