Windows Boot Problem

    Hi there people, just wondering if there was anyone out there who can help...

    ive just installed XP onto my sis's computer, (installed fine) but now during startup it freezes while loading Mup.sys

    if anyone knows what the hell this is, and how to stop it, it would be greatful

    Try removing your PCI cards one by one and rebooting. This should narrow the issue for you. I've seen it happen on a usb 2.0 card.

    Its to do with Powermanagment. Turn it off in the BIOS mess arond with options. If u get into the computer in safe mode or by booting some way uninstall ACPI in device manager.

    Try messing around with that. Should do the trick.

    try it again, because Cals right, seems to be happening a lot with USB 2.0. Also maybe ur MUP.sys is corrupt so re-install the file
