Hi,today the Leap lads came over and installed everything for me,when they finished they said that I would have to wait for Leap to call me and assign me an ip adress, they didn't even leave me a network cable. Now,I was wondering,do you not need any software and how does this wireless thing work?

    I'm confused

And still waiting for an ip!!

How long did it take anyone who did get the installment to get connected?

They left you a box right?

It has a network connection port in it.

You plug your network cable (which is your responsibility to procure) into it and then into your network card in your machine.

Once they call you they will give you the IP and the Gateway.
Ask them to talk you through setting your machine up. (Sounds like you dont have the tech skills to do that, its not that trivial).

Beyond that enjoy... btw, I'm gonna delete the duplicate post on IOFFL ... its off topic there.

    DeV.

wait till monday I reckon, I had a nice women called Sheena arrive to the house the next day to configure the box & then gave me the ip address & gateway etc, now I enjoy very very fast downloads & I'm happier then a pig in sh*te :)

Where do you put the ip adress and gateway?
She said that she was able to configure the box from there and then gave my wife the ip and gateway adress, but now I don't know how to set it up.

click on My network places on your desktop. then click on network connections, this will take you to your network settings. click on your network card (you do have one right?) then click on TCP/IP. click "specify an IP address" and this is where you enter these details

Thanks,I did that at the start but I was getting network cable unplugged so I figured it was a problem with my cable,I went out spent a 10er for a crossover and I am up and running and enjoying the mega speeds offered by leap.

Maybe, but its the only option I had for an allways on,my wife was allways giving out for the phone line always beeing busy so I figured I better do something about it.

The service will probably change but for now it looks really good.

P.S.Did any of you using Leap get an e-mail address?
