    Im trying to find out my IP address on windows 95 os. HOw?!

    My friend and I are gunna play a bit of doom but we need to know ip's of course. I'm sure one of you knows.

    I didnt know where to put this, so move as you see fit moderators.

    if memory serves, open up DOS Prompt and type "ipconfig". that should work but im open to correction.

    on win9x its "winipcfg"

    Start>Run>winipcfg

    that is all

    The first answer is the correct on all windows platforms.

    From a command prompt type

    ipconfig

    Then you'll get something like this:
    C:\>ipconfig
    
    Windows 2000 IP Configuration
    
    Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
    
            IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 172.16.4.5
            Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
            Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 172.16.4.1
    
    C:\>
