I see from Eircom's www.adsl.ie site that there is a link to "eircom i-stream wireless broadband" but it leads to "Sorry This page is currently unavailable".

I was not aware of a wireless offering from Eircom. Any further details out there anyone?

    Cal

Yea, they're required by some USO or something to offer Wireless to people outside of the DSL range. I think.

Should've been available ages ago afaik.

I think it refers to there wireless service in some hotel lobbies, such as the great southern at the airport, it's free at the moment. Go to eircom.ie seletc business, and it's there. I havent tried it yet, but a friend who tried it says it works fine, sounds like adsl with an AP on top.

    but why go with eircom?

Theres Irish Broadband, IrishWISP and Leap Broadband. Leap is a tad more expensive and irishwisp only have one transmitter on 3rock

I would not go with Eircom!

I am just surprised that after seeing the competition from some independent companys they are now going to offer a wierless service themselves.

I have gone with Irishwisp. The only company offering 1MB wireless for less than €50 a month. With a respectable 12GB cap too.
