Posh Skanger Wannabes

This is something i have noticed alot since ive moved to dublin,the estate i`m in is in general a nice slightly upper middle class estate and anyone over say 21 are descent nice people but as soon as you see a teenager you can be sure they are going to act like a complete and utter spa!, I personally cant understand it these kids have nice parents and yet are complete and utter muppets now i have to say out of the entire estate at least 85% act like this and decide to put on a full blooded skanger accent when they say anything to you yet when you pass by and they are with mummy and daddy its a nice soft northside accent.

To be honest i think these skanger wannabes are worse than true skangers because at least with skangers you know that more than likely their background/childhood may have been a bit dodgy to say the least. But with these kids its just pure mindless stupidity i mean have they nothing better to do with their time its not like there is nothing for kids to do in dublin.

so what do you think?

seriously, it is pretty rediculous all you see around these days are goths,skateboarders, knackers and wanabee knackers....the first two are harmless, the next are knackers and as for the wanabee knackers they are as you said idiots......how can they look at genuine knackers and think "ya thats how i wanna act and look like"?

I went to DCU our skangers were the genuine article.

I work in UCD now, its amusing to see the "Yewts" around the area acting up. They'd deserve a good thrashing except they all probably have their own lawyers.

couldnt agree with you more Asok. I was on the bus up Killiney hill a few weeks ago and there were a half dozen skanger wannabes on there trying their best to sound like real skangers.

It's more funny/tragic than it is annoying really... maybe being a skanger is the new black?

The youth in an area will conform to whatever is perceived to be the done thing.

That being said, there are lovely people that live in Tallaght, and some absolute thugs living in Dublin 4.

I myself live in Tallaght and approach any scumbag, be it a sham, wannabe, legitimate article or whatever, with caution and tact, no matter where I am or who I'm with.

Shutting your mouth, keeping your head down and picking up the pace prompts a far more advantageous outcome than speaking your mind or standing up for yourself, regardless of how much you may feel it puts you down. Let them think they are the victors, regardless of how petty the battle was.

Id say its the likes of Foxrock/Blackrock that are the poshest areas now. D4 is normal, but the likes of Ailesbury Rd, is just for the super rich, kids are a waste of time people.

You see Rich d4 cant be all that great you are there :P

alot of these skanger babbehs are really soft as scower if ya stand up to them but the thing is sometimes they are pulling of the skanger look you cant tell them from a real one,perhaps some type of arm band will fix this .
anyways all i can say is gas them all the world would be a hell of alot nicer without them, that said there are some people in very posh areas that can be worse except if ya deck them you will be paying it off for the rest of your life hah!

Ill refer to my earlier post here for my 'final solution' to the scanger problem that is currently plaguing dublin :P

i dont see why foxrock is regarded as all that posh really, ballsbridge / mt merrion / blackrock all have a higher percentage of nice houses in them.

There really should be a boards.ie "Southsider Card" .

This would be countered only by the "Northsider" card coupled with the "Headbutt" card.

Which in turn could be countered by the "Southsider" coupled with "Lawyers + Fancy Car" card. .
