Pretty good season opener, good to see Ducati back with a bang with Capriossi leading the first lap or two and eventually finishing third behind the two Hondas.. looks like they definitely have the performance anyway, should lead to some good competition in coming races.

Will be interesting to see how the World Superbike riders get on as the season develops, although Edwards and Bayliss put in a good show their first time out (Haga finished a good bit down iirc), and perhaps they might be able to challenge Rossi for one or two races :)

    Results are here anyway: http://images.motograndprix.com/images/results1.jpg

Yeah, it was a good race. Ducati third in their first MotoGP race, well, what can you say other than it was a great job. And doesn't that bike sound absolutely fantastic?

Still see that Rossi and Max aren't any friendlier to one another. Did you see the body language on the podium? ;)

Bad news. Read today that Dajiro Kato, who had a massive accident yesterday, is now in a coma and fighting for his life in hospital. We can only hope he pulls through but, from the reports I've seen, it's not looking good for the former 250 c.c. World Champion. :(

The accident happened just before the new chicane after 130R and these pictures show the intensity of it:

He's even missing one of his racing boots after the crash.
    ugly stuff.
