Last weekend, while sitting in my car having a smoke, a little fella landed on my window.

It was a Mayfly, I had thoughts of catching him just to proove this, but hey you cant mistake them. I hadnt expected to see these for another 3 weeks.

Anyway, I spotted him in the carpark in work (Citywest, co.Dublin), close enough to Saggart for those of you that mightn't know. I cant really think of any lakes/rivers close by other than a couple of ponds/streams round the park itself that have visiting swans, so I've no idea where he came from.

Has anyone else seen these early Mayfly?

yeah-spring has been quite mild-i wouldn't be surprised if the mayfly season starts early on the western lakes.
