This is Gemmell’s latest book, set in the same universe as the Drenai in the timeline of Druss. The plot is one of possible redemption. For the main character has a dark history, and who could sit quite happily as the villain in other books. He is trying to atone for past misdeeds and this is the central premise. The writing is mature, and Gemmell is fleshing out the main character more than usual.
The highlight of the book is the epilogue. Enjoy. 3.5/5
BTW anyone read yet the one out in pb, Stormrider?

    Is he?
This sounds like every other Gemmell Book ever, He is one of the most colour by numbers authors I have ever read

That said I've read all his other books and will probably read this one too.

Have read stormrider and enjoyed it quite alot. Well written and it seems he thought out the plot over the two books rather than adopting his usual wait and see policy.
