Removed the list as most of the IP's dont match the server address i've found.

Ok Rev has kindly put an Irish BF server up on games2.iol.ie.

We need someone to hop on quickly and test it out to see if everythings ok.

If someone could get on then drop into #battlefield.ie on IRC and let us know alls alright that'd be great.

Tried an Irish BF server last night (Tom and IOL were in the name of the server). Had the worst lag ive ever seen in the game. My ping was a steady 60 (mind you, I get lower to UK servers) but my movements and everyones elses (to me) appeared about 1 sec out of sync.

So I disconnected and played in the UK, pity really.

The linux version of the server isnt up to much cop from all accounts, we can only hope it will improve.

Yep, i think rev needs to look into this. Seems like something is up with the lag prediction or the bandwidth settings maybe.

my uber-pc should be built by the week-end and I was thinking about buying BF1942, but only for the multiplayer. Is it playable on 56k? I cant get BB (Im in mayo for christs sake!)

possibility of me organising an irish BF server (probs desert combat? whaddya think?)

ive already organised bandwidth, would 2megs be enough for 20 ppl say?

itll be on the IBB backbone. im on shared eircom DSL, i get excellent pings to IBB users, so teh server should be a tad better still!

(just have to organise some hardware now!)

you can always connect to our server based in ireland.

We run DC .38 and EOD so just check before connecting just in case you don't want to play the other one.

KerryCombat one is the games2 server. There are at the moment just the two irish servers .... hopefully that number will rise .. though we can only hope

Went on it eariler when there was 14 people playing
Didn't reconise anyone off boards.. but did eariler, think the rest just joined cause they saw people playing and thye lowed ping'd

this is true... an empty server stays empty till someone joins and waits. and this is worstened by battlefield's crappiness when playing with only 2 people.

Guys I play on Jarhedz servers with our DOD clan and have played on this server.
I get great pings all the time on it.
