Does anyone remember the mid 80's children's tv series Chocky?
It was based on a John Wyndham novel, about a boy who starts to get visitations from an extra terrestrial that looked like this:

I can only remember some bits and pieces from the series, but I remember thinking it was the coolest program on TV and always watched it when it was on. I remember his parents getting very upset because of his strange behaviour. His artistic talents improved immensely. I remember in a later series he meets a girl who appears to be brilliant at maths and her parents don't believe that she is getting help..and something about a windmill. Also a clay model and paintings (of chocky's homeworld?). The clay model was smashed.

There seems to be very little information out there about it, I couldn't find any appreciation websites or fanclubs.

Some of the series are available on dvd now:

If anyone has any memories of the program or can find a website with more info, let me know!

Jeez... that takes me back! I used to love that show too.

I can still vividly remember the episode where chocky appeared for the first time (Series 1 Episode 3 or 4). The blue wobbly light, strange voice, and the 2 tone humming noise.....

There were 3 series altogether, wasn't there? Chocky, Chockys Children and Chockys Challenge. Aaah the memories...... They haven't been on TV for a long long time now.

All I remember about that show was a hollow spinning pyramid that facinated me when I was a little kid. I used to 'weld' plastic straws over a flame to make the shape that appeared in the show.
