Anyone else notice the abundance of council workers out and about today? From grass cutters to cleaner uppers to everything else inbetween, there are loads of them all around all of a sudden!

    It is what it's.

Not sure about this but I think it has something to do with the Spring Clean thing they were on about on TV3 news last night.

Hmmm, it's like on some days you notice loads of people on crutches, other times it's lots of lost shoes, usually on a footpath (no pun intended) and the there's always that one glove that you're always gonna see on top of some railings.....

    Just me? Oooooooooooook then!

other times it's lots of lost shoes

I actually saw a shoe on the side of the road today. I thought it was quite odd.....

If you had a small storehouse you could probably collect them and sell them on. Y'know - someone comes to you for a size 9 Nike air left shoe - you can provide it for them. Don't laugh, there's a guy in America that collects hub caps and has a massive pound with hundreds upon possibly thousands of hub caps. People lose a hub cap and go to him to buy a new/stolen/second hand one!

As for loads of workers - maybe the council has started a clean up? God I hope so.

See? And ye all thought I was mad!! :)

Strange though isn't it? I mean if you're gonna lose ONE shoe you may as well lose both the damn things!

heheh, right now there's a cable strung over a road between blocks of flats in Dublin city centre that has four pairs of scanger-esque footwear dangling from it.

Used to think when I was a kid that those single shoes were left behind by people with only one leg

Anyway, I've noticed of late that Dublin had been getting pretty yucky litter-wise. (All those years of eventually successful Bin-Your-Litter campaigning down the drain, possibly something to do with bin taxes? - if they have to pay to bin it at home they might as well bin it anywhere else. It's a pity some people just don't care :()

    It is what it's.

Or you could get a job flipping burgers in McDs and get twice as much money.

Mabye its for the special olympics, with all these visitors coming there probably trying to get an early start on the work needed to clean up the streets.

    fnuking lol!!!

that made me laugh out loud :>)
    pld!

also gloves tend to end up on top of railings, though it is a lot easier to lose a glove than a shoe.....

PS: Gordon, if you intend on following up that idea, stake out your local swimming pool,
its a great resource for shoes, sandals, flip flops. and if you're lucky t-shirts!

    ahem.
