    THE WARLOCKS
    This Tuesday, April 1st '03
    Whelans of Wexford St
Tickets: 13.50 (inc booking fee) from Road, Soundcellar, usual outlets.
    Doors: 8pm

This is THE WARLOCKS debut Irish show and is the first of a full sixteen date headline UK & Ireland tour.

They're a big-haired, Southern Californian, seven-piece sonic assault of two drummers, four guitarists, and a properly deranged frontman, Bobby Hecksher.

If you're a fan of The Velvet Underground, Spacemen 3, Spiritualized, Sonic Boom, Jesus and Mary Chain, The Stooges... you'll want to check out their live show!

    The band is:
    JC REES on guitar
    COREY LEE GRANET on guitar
LAURA GRISBY on tambourine, organ and vocals,
and newest addition, BOBBY MARTINE on bass.

There's two drummers - DANNY HOLE and JASON ANCHONDO - bashin' simultaneously on full-size kits.

At the vortex of this cross-fire hurricane is guitarist/lead vocalist
    BOBBY HECKSHER.

He writes all of the band's songs, whether they're fourteen-minute gotterdammerung assaults or pastoral acoustic-strummed meditations!

Their new single, 'Hurricane Heart Attack' is out now on City Rockers. It's from their brilliant brand new album, 'Phoenix' - just released on Friday.

The Summer of 2002 saw the release of the limited edition 'Phoenix' EP, whose 4 tracks clocked in at an impressive 65 min.

The Warlocks were nominated in the "Hot New Band" category at this year's NME Carling Awards alongside the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Kings Of Leon, Jet, The Thrills, and Interpol (they've also just finished a full UK tour with Interpol).

They also look set to team up with label-mate, Chicago DJ and producer, Felix Da Housecat for future releases.

    Don't miss!
