When you're paying €5000 for a Plasma screen then an installation charge of €400 while a bit on the high side is probably something some people will pay.

When you consider that at least two people will be needed to install an €5000 plasma screen. They will need to travel to your location (presuming a nationwide service). They will have to ensure a safe installation and most importantly are entirely liable for any damage to the screen during installation.

Think of all the pub businesses who need a professional service to do these installations for insurance reasons.

They're probably making a nice few quid on the service but no doubt it may be of use to more people than you'd expect.

Isn't it the case that gas plasmas need to be serviced at regular intervals, and generally also need to have the gas replaced regularly?

Not sure if the above is entirely accurrate, but they're definitely not as straightforward as plugging in your Mitsubishi black diamond!
