Triple Crown - You beat all nations except for France. i.e For Ireland to do a Triple Crown, they have to beat England, Scotland and Wales.

IIRC you don't have to beat all the home nations you just have to win more home nations matches than the others.

Isn't there also a Lansdowne Cup or some such for the Ireland England game?

Yes that is right - only Ireland Wales England and Scotland can win the triple crown and have to beat all the other three teams to win it. England won the triple crown last year as they were beaten only by France.

The Grand Slam is achieved by winning all 5 matches - which France achieved last year by beating England, Scotland, Wales, Italy and Ireland.

The 6 Nations championship is won by the team who get the most points from their games (2 points for a win, 1 for a draw). If two teams finished on the same amount of points, the championship used to be shared, but now it is decided on points difference.

Either Ireland or England will win the Grand Slam, Championship and Triple Crown by winning tomorrow's game as both are undefeated. However if the game is drawn England will win the championship (as they have a better points difference) and nobody will win the Grand Slam or the Triple Crown.

There's a trophy awarded for the winenr of Irealnd vs. England, I think it's called the Millenium trophy (as in Dublin's Millenium, 1988).
