Its not great and pretty much a wait for vid movie. The acting is generally all right itss the script and story line that drag it down. If it didn't have big names in it it would be like a pilot for another TV spy series....

The story isn't very beliveable at all (partly based around a virus that can infect systems through power lines...) bits of the CIA training are ok but nothing special.

If it hadn't been for the big names i would hve probably turned it off and watched the telly....

In saying that there are worse movies to go see (The Core...).

It is crud tbh. Predictable all the way through.

Although predictable in places i thoroughly enjoyed it. A couple of twists were unexpected. Quite compelling i thought - worth a watch

The outcome was very predictable, but the route it took was pretty clever. 1st half of the movie (recruitment and training) was better than the 2nd half.

Biggest laugh in the movie came from a big green road sign that said:

George Bush Center For Intelligence :)

The movie is worth a couple of hours of anyones time..... go see.

giblets right it is crud, i knew the ending before i went to see it - from the trailer, its really not worth 2hrs or your time, unless you find crap films funny.

fair enough Im a bit of a Farrell fan and not just coz he damn handsome.....I genuinely think he's a great actor :) Ive seen the recruit and thought it was pretty decent! and Farrell was well capable of holding his own on screen with Al Pacino! Good movie though well worth the trip to the cinema!

saw that too...was the only one in the cinema that found it remotely funny coz I was the only one laughing!!!

I thought it was a bit weak for a movie.

It had a big budget feel, but plot and script wise I've seen better episodes of Alias, in fact it was like the pilot for a TV show.

I can probably see it becoming a show if there is no sequal picked up...

Nothing you havent seen before. If you want to see a Farrell movie, go see Phone Booth in two weeks. Now that should be a good 'un.

Seems to be conflicting thoughts here.. personally i thought it was a very good movie actually!

Personally I thought the plot was uninteresting and predictable. I would go as far to say that the plot was unimportant.

The acting was first rate and really pulled the film up - without the actors this film wouldn't of even made video.

I thought that the story was very cliched but there are a lot worse movies around.

I taught it had a crap story line, was too rushed and to hide the crap story line decieded to throw in crappy twists every five mins which you could see coming a mile away.

Dont know about anyone else but when i saw a preview of this film in the cinema it had the part telling Colin Farrell that he's the mole, considering thats suppose to be the big twist why show it in the preview.

It was worth the watch, you'll see plenty of shíte films by comparsion but i was watching it and then i though this is Training Day with computers instead of drugs.

loved pacino's septemeber 11th speech (in a this is so far over the top it's an unbelievable load of bollix kinda way) but the rest of it (even with the lovely, lovely colin farrell) really was terrible

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 950 ✭✭✭nasty_crash

i enjoyed every minute of it!! it beats the **** out of other films this year anyway. Have to say farrell is becoming a class actor!! nearly on level par with Brad Pitt and Edward Norton!!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 393 ✭✭JaneyMackers

It ain't no Bourne Identity thats for sure.

  • Users Awaiting Email Confirmation Posts: 15,001 ✭✭✭✭Pepe LeFrits

I thought it was better than Bourne Identity. I found Bourne Identity to be very boring and unengaging.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 143 ✭✭beezkneez

colin farrel needs to do a good film with him as the lead soon before he gets washed up. he cannot be compared to the likes of ed norton or brad pitt yet as he has yet to do a great movie. the bourne identity i feel was a great watch whereas the recruit had al pacino doing his usual over the top thing with colin farrel punching a punch bag. the recruit - not a good movie by any standards.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 393 ✭✭JaneyMackers

    Gotta disagree Kaids,

Thought Bourne Identity was one of the better spy flick to come out for a good while.

    Recruit was entirely predictable.
