Following their recent appearance with John Squire at The Ambassador and some UK shows with The Thrills and Gomez,
THE BASEMENT play a full seven-date Irish tour this week and next including this show at Whelans this Sunday, March 23rd!

The hotly-tipped four-piece from Omagh are fronted by George Best look-a-like, John Mullin, and have just released their brilliant (it is!) double A-Side single, 'Medicine Day/Stuck On The Streets (At Minus 10)' through the Deltasonic label (also home to The Coral).

    - THE REST OF THE IRISH TOUR DATES IN FULL ARE:
TONIGHT, Friday, March 21 - LIMERICK, High Stool
Saturday, March 22 - KILKENNY, Cleeres
Sunday, March 23 - DUBLIN, Whelans
Tuesday, March 25 - DUNDALK, Spirit Store
Wednesday, March 26 - BELFAST, Auntie Annies
Friday, March 28 - DERRY, Nerve Centre

Special guests for this Sunday's show are THE THINGS.

Single of the Fortnight, Hot Press:
"Produced in Liverpool by Ian Broudie, the Omagh four-piece seem to have found their spiritual home in the city. That they're supporting label-mates, The Coral comes as no surprise, as 'Medicine Day' sounds like the Scousers jamming with Bob Dylan and the Band, with the Stray Cats rhythm section.
Quite, quite mad but quite, quite brilliant.
If there's more where this came from, their upcoming Irish
dates could well fall into the 'you had to be there' category."

"What do they sound like? They reckon they’re influenced by 'Franz Kafka'
(John), 'Planet Of The Apes' (Mark) and 'The Clancy Brothers' (Declan). We can hear Dylan, The Byrds and Van Morrison" - NME.
