Just wondering how much everyone here doodles?

A friend of mine did a Young Scientist project on doodling and that sort of thing, and there's was only one other person out for a couple of hundred who did anything even similar to some the stuff i do.

Basically I fill pages upon pages with abstract shapes, in different colours with no colours touching, etc. Hard to explain, maybe i'll post some pics at some stage.

But the main question is what counts as doodling, people tell me that what i talked about isn't doodling as it requires too much concentration, but I disagree, I sit in lectures and I'm still paying attention and taking notes but the back pages of my notebooks are covered in abstract shapes and tons of interlocking celtic design things / weaves.

I have a habit of writing my name a lot. Don't know what that says about me!

That is usually an indication of a high level of vanity.

That's what my da said too, although I don't consider myself to be particularly vain. I know plenty of males that I would consider to be significantly more vain than myself.

I usually do mega deformed people or design weird abstract buildings. Not entirely sure why though but the other day I was caught drawing Onslow out of Keeping Up Apperances (super deformed and but still wearing his usual clothing) because we were learning about the town of Oslo's social and economic culture and got a rather bemused look from the teacher.

Sounds just like what i do, does it look anything like the attached pic of the back of refill pad?

Me only draws dragons these days. I discovered recently that I draw dragons at major turning points in my life and at no other time. I used to be prolific in my teens but now they only show up every 4/5 years when something bad has happened. All kinds. Males, females, restful, angry blah blah blah.

I find it very odd and it always prompts me to think of that legend re the dude going off in search of a dragon to slay when the only dragons are in his head...................

    Here's some of my doodles:

I can't stop. I usually draw characters in action poses, or portraits of characters standing too attention. I also have a fascination with how little information is required to describe the human form, and in strange pictographic languages I devise.

Yup, doodling is addictive...I tend to doodle portraits or facial features...eyes, lips etc...sometimes realistic sometimes cartoony or abstract...or sometimes it's all just a big mess of lil notes and characters. I do this lil lady bug thing but it's a fella-bug called henri and i do little bugs trailing behind him - his babies, oh and footprints, and graffiti designs....God I'm weird!...and have way too much spare time (5th year).
