Can I get an eeprom (FBUS I think they're called) cable for a nokia 3310 in Dublin for cheap?

I was looking at making one myself (the phone/cable connector will be the hardest part I think), as it looks like a straight forward Vcc, gnd, Rx and Tx setup with 4 contacts.

Afaik the MBUS is the "data" cable (for using your mobile as a modem/data interface.

All i want to do is back up my SMS's, and mess around with the settings/delete the standard pic messages.

OK, I went into Templecom and asked if they did a data cable for a 5110. "No, it's too early" was the reply. I said "it's an old model", to which the reply was "that's what I mean".

So out of curiousity I asked if they did the 6210. "Yeah, €24".

    This left me somewhat puzzled.

Will the data cable for a 6210 work with a 5110? The phones both have the same pins IIRC.

    It is what it's.
