Right. For me 21st, we're getting a keg of Guinness and a keg of Bud into the gaf and doin a lot of drinking.

How much is a keg? And is there anywhere in Dublin I can get them over the counter?

I have taps and all that, so won't be a problem. Would you believe a mate of mine actually delivers beer for a living but doesn't know any of this?

    Cheeeeers

contact your family local and they'd give you a price straight up..

    your talking for a 30l keg (52 pints) about €100 - €120
    50l keg (88 pints The usual keg*) about €160 - €180

    or contact the brew crew

actually if you're any bit friendly with your local im sure he'd organise getting one for you and supplying a tap and cooler for you. we've done it for a few of our locals and its never much of a problem so long everything is returned (including the empty keg;) )

most pubs will give you a keg & a cooler no probs there...the hardest thing is trying to get the gas for bud & guiness as you need the old style gas cylinders as most pubs now use the large BOC gas cylinders,

Once you have the kit, switch on the cooler at least 4-5 hours before (i used to leave it over night) the guzzling commences :)

Wouldn't have thought that would make a difference as the cooler is only a line cooler, and doesn't chill the keg.

Better idea is place the keg in a rubbish bin, and fill up the bin with ice and water.

    mmm Frosty

For getting kegs I heartily endorse The Brew Crew: http://www.brewcrew.ie/.

It's a good idea to keep your passport handy while drinking your own keg.

pubs buy in kegs at E116 or so.

pubs will [and should] provide the cooler and taps AND gas. Most pubs would still have the small cylinders in case of problems with the cold room.
